Rare 1924 R. Lalique Worth Dans La Nuit Cobalt Blue Perfume Scent Bottle Large Flacon

On offer is this rare art deco large perfume bottle by René Lalique for the French perfume house Worth for the fragrance Dans La Nuit. This scent bottle measures a tall 20 cm in height and is made of cobalt blue glass with impressed "Worth" on the front and impressed "R. Lalique" on the base indicating a pre-1945 production. The bottle is fitted with a ground glass disc stopper with polished crescent moon in bas-relief against impressed stars. Underneath the plug of the stopper and the base of the bottle have matching hand-etched batch numbers confirming they are an original pairing. This particular crescent moon and stars disc stopper was produced only from 1924 until the mid-1930s. It was discontinued following a trademark dispute with Procter & Gamble (who claimed it copied their corporate Ivory Soap logo). This early variant is highly prized. The bottle has a diamond shaped paper label to the front which has worn writing. This outstanding and rare art deco Rene' Lalique designed perfume bottle is offered in very good condition. The bottle has no chips or cracks. The stopper fits firmly and securely and has some nibbles to the plug only.
