Description
Offered for sale is a Royal Doulton hand painted porcelain figurine "The Mendicant" Hn1365 designed by Leslie Harradine. This remarkably detailed beggar figurine comes in high gloss finish with wonderful brown & vibrant mix of orange, pink and yellow colors. This figurine was issued between 1929 and 1969. The backstamp would date this particular model to c1932. A mendicant (from Latin: mendicans, "begging") is one who practices mendicancy and relies chiefly or exclusively on alms to survive.
