Sampson & Mordan Silver Gilt Ruby Glass Combination Scent Bottle & Vinaigrette

This absolutely stunning Victorian piece by Sampson Mordan is a real beauty, hallmarked London 1878. Rectangular in shape with canted corners. The hinged cover with a push button sprung cap (see video). The hinged cover to the base concealing a grille pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage. Both the silver gilt mounts have the same scrolling foliate design. It is hallmarked to the interior and exterior of the vinaigrette, and also the perfume bottle top, all for London 1878. Stamped within the vinaigrette with S. Mordan & Co London. The ruby glass is a deep luscious colour. Both the cartouches are clear, no names or initials. A splendid item indeed.
