Description
A truly delightful faceted oval silver lidded inkwell, standing in an appropriately recessed oval footed pen tray. Executed by the inestimable Henry Matthews, this is a true gem that will grace any desk, be it; Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian or 20th Century. The simple heavy gauge silver ‘flat sheet’ lid to the inkwell is surmounted by a delightful finial, retains a strong hinge and a plain silver rim to the top of the heavy glass inkwell.

condition
The silver is in good condition and the lid likewise. Overall the condition of the item is good, which despite the rubbed marks to the pen tray has little other than the light surface scratching and a dink or two to the tray rim that bear witness to its age and sustained use.
