Stunning Rare First Period Worcester Porcelain Kakiemon & Cailloute Leaf Dish c.1770
A truly stunning very large Worcester porcelain double leaf moulded dessert dish with a scale blue ground over gilded with a cailloute pebbled pattern. The centre with a circular reserve and surrounded by alternating vase and mirror shaped reserves and further reserved areas around the rim. Painted in a fantasy oriental kakiemon style, the three mirror reserves are painted with fancy birds amongst exotic flowers in gardens. The other reserves are all painted with a variety of exotic flowering plants, all embellished with gilt highlights. Finished with a gilt rim. Hatched square mark to the reverse, c.1770.
Reference: An example illustrated in Marshall, entry 154. Similarly decorated to the garniture of vases in plate 331 of the Worcester Porcelain, The Zorensky Collection, Spero, with the same cailloute decorated blue ground and larger images of fancy birds in landscapes.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Two small enamel flakes lost from the green leaves in the central reserve, but otherwise minimal handling wear. A superb example.
