Very Large & Impressive Chinese Cinnabar Lidded Box Qianlong / Jiaqing

This impressive cinnabar lidded box is a really fine example of great scale and is in excellent order. The box is an early piece from the Qianlong / Jiaqing Emperor period so late 1700 to early 1800 in date. The quality is outstanding with superb detail to the fabulous scene carved throughout the lid depicting rural China and cultural life over 200 years ago. The body of the casket is also similarly carved with exquisite detail making this the finest example of Qianlong / Jaiqing craftsmanship. A rare piece indeed of substantial size at 26cm in diameter and 15cm high.
