ANTIQUE JEWELLERY, FURNITURE AND OBJECTS CURATED BY CONSERVATION AND GEMMOLOGY SPECIALISTS IN GUERNSEY AND LONDON
After years immersed in the dynamic world of London’s antique scene, we felt a call to return to Guernsey, to a quieter, more reflective place where we could cultivate our own vision. Our approach is founded on a deep respect for the history and craftsmanship of each item we encounter, but also an understanding that the antique world must evolve to remain relevant in today’s ever-changing landscape. We are committed to bringing both knowledge and passion to every interaction, ensuring that our clients are as informed as they are inspired by the pieces they acquire.
'Terrou' is the Guernésiais word for 'Always' - a word which resonated strongly with us. We believe antiques should be both appreciated for their heritage and embraced for their ability to contribute to the beauty and functionality of modern life. Our collection represents not only the history of fine jewellery and furniture but also a bridge between past and present. We work with clients to help them see that antiques are not merely relics of the past but treasures that can compliment and enhance the spaces and lives of today.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to make the antique world more accessible and approachable, while preserving the standards of knowledge, care, and expertise that have defined it for centuries.
We invite you to explore our collection, where tradition meets innovation, and where every piece tells a story.

Description
A charming late Victorian bar brooch set with alternating rose cut diamonds and cabochon sapphires, preserved in its original fitted retailer’s case.
Crafted in silver and backed in 15ct gold, the elongated navette-form mount is delicately edged with fine millegrain decoration and set with four richly coloured cabochon sapphires alternating with five sparkling rose cut diamonds. The graduated arrangement creates a pleasing rhythm of light and colour, with the softly glowing sapphires providing a beautiful contrast to the broad, candlelit scintillation characteristic of antique rose cut diamonds.
Unlike modern brilliant-cut stones, rose cut diamonds were fashioned to capture and reflect the gentler light of candlelit interiors, lending antique jewels such as this a distinctive and romantic character. Their broad facets produce flashes of silver-white light rather than the intense sparkle associated with contemporary diamond cutting.
The brooch is accompanied by its original fitted presentation case, a surviving detail that enhances both its charm and collectability. Elegant, understated and highly wearable, it remains as suited to a modern lapel or silk ribbon as it would have been to the high-necked gowns of the late nineteenth century.
A beautifully preserved example of Victorian jewellery craftsmanship, combining timeless design with the enduring appeal of natural gemstones and antique diamond cutting.
