Victorian Marquetry Card Table with Swivel Top

A wonderful quality Victorian card table, this has a top which folds back and swivels around so that the legs support it. The marquetry is beautiful, making it an ornate decorative piece which is still useful for its original purpose. - Lovely marquetry patterns, including birds, flowers and musical instruments. - Brass ormolu decoration to the legs, with a graceful female form at the tops. - Cabriole legs, with inlays accentuating the shape. - Brass border decoration around the shaped top. - Marquetry on the top, both when closed and open, and also on the front and sides. - Green baize top, with a gilt Greek key design around the border. - Compartment below the top for storage of gaming items. In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. The marquetry is in generally good condition. There is some wear to the baize at the centre fold. One of the pins holding the decoration at the top of the legs is proud.
