Description
This heavy cast silver plated box is a very decorative Victorian electroformed silver-plated trinket or jewellery box in a rectangular form with hinged lid and has been relined with antique dark blue velvet in keeping with its original design and execution in the 1890’s. The five panels depict rural scenes and harvest activities.

Larkin & Gallow has clarified that the Victorian Silver Plated Box with Rural Scenes of the Harvest (LA419686) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being Circa 1890
condition
Overall, the casket is in good condition with some lightly worn plate to the upper panel, giving rise to a gentle glow from the underlying brass. It is fitted with a locking mechanism, but alas the key is absent. The casket is marked with an ‘R’ to the base.
