Description
Here we have a large silver framed William Comyns love heart pin cushion and jewellery chest, assayed in London in 1895/96.
The turquoise green velvet pin cushion has applied silver letters comprising the monogram 'CS' or 'SG'. The pierced decorative frame comprises depictions of cherubs, scrolls, pierced trellis panels, flowers, and assorted foliage.

This delightful pin cushion topped jewellery box, largely comprises the original pieces of the Victorian forerunner with some fabrics and other small components having to be replaced during its restoration. Please note the tiny patch on the point. The silver work of the heart shaped frame is totally original, as is the applied monogram on the pin-cushion.
