ANTIQUE JEWELLERY, FURNITURE AND OBJECTS CURATED BY CONSERVATION AND GEMMOLOGY SPECIALISTS IN GUERNSEY AND LONDON After years immersed in the dynamic world of London’s antique scene, we felt a call to return to Guernsey, to a quieter, more reflective place where we could cultivate our own vision. Our approach is founded on a deep respect for the history and craftsmanship of each item we encounter, but also an understanding that the antique world must evolve to remain relevant in today’s ever-changing landscape. We are committed to bringing both knowledge and passion to every interaction, ensuring that our clients are as informed as they are inspired by the pieces they acquire. 'Terrou' is the Guernésiais word for 'Always' - a word which resonated strongly with us. We believe antiques should be both appreciated for their heritage and embraced for their ability to contribute to the beauty and functionality of modern life. Our collection represents not only the history of fine jewellery and furniture but also a bridge between past and present. We work with clients to help them see that antiques are not merely relics of the past but treasures that can compliment and enhance the spaces and lives of today. At the heart of our mission is the desire to make the antique world more accessible and approachable, while preserving the standards of knowledge, care, and expertise that have defined it for centuries. We invite you to explore our collection, where tradition meets innovation, and where every piece tells a story.

Description
A small and atmospheric architectural study by British artist William Cubitt Cooke, dated 1925. Executed in brown ink, the drawing captures an open casement window, its panes thrown outward to reveal a suggestion of landscape beyond. The composition is spare yet deliberate. Strong vertical and horizontal lines define the structure of the window frame, while looser cross-hatching introduces depth and shadow. The contrast between the rigid geometry of the architecture and the softer, implied forms outside creates a subtle sense of space and perspective. Inscribed below with “Arthur Lewis, Church Lane Street, Hungerford, Berks” and dated 1925, the work carries a specific sense of place. It reads as a direct observational study, likely drawn on site, preserving a fleeting view through both line and memory. The paper shows age and handling, which complements the immediacy of the drawing. As with Cooke’s other studies, this is a working piece, offering insight into process rather than presentation. A compelling object that sits comfortably within both traditional and pared back interiors, particularly suited to those drawn to architectural detail and early 20th century British draftsmanship. Details Brown ink on paper British, dated 1925 Inscribed with location: Hungerford, Berkshire Artist: William Cubitt Cooke Good antique condition with age toning, surface marks and wear consistent with a working drawing Why we love it There is a sense of looking through and beyond the page. A simple subject, carefully observed, with just enough detail to hold the eye.
