ANTIQUE JEWELLERY, FURNITURE AND OBJECTS CURATED BY CONSERVATION AND GEMMOLOGY SPECIALISTS IN GUERNSEY AND LONDON
After years immersed in the dynamic world of London’s antique scene, we felt a call to return to Guernsey, to a quieter, more reflective place where we could cultivate our own vision. Our approach is founded on a deep respect for the history and craftsmanship of each item we encounter, but also an understanding that the antique world must evolve to remain relevant in today’s ever-changing landscape. We are committed to bringing both knowledge and passion to every interaction, ensuring that our clients are as informed as they are inspired by the pieces they acquire.
'Terrou' is the Guernésiais word for 'Always' - a word which resonated strongly with us. We believe antiques should be both appreciated for their heritage and embraced for their ability to contribute to the beauty and functionality of modern life. Our collection represents not only the history of fine jewellery and furniture but also a bridge between past and present. We work with clients to help them see that antiques are not merely relics of the past but treasures that can compliment and enhance the spaces and lives of today.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to make the antique world more accessible and approachable, while preserving the standards of knowledge, care, and expertise that have defined it for centuries.
We invite you to explore our collection, where tradition meets innovation, and where every piece tells a story.

Description
A finely observed figure study by British artist William Cubitt Cooke, depicting a young woman in motion, carrying baskets. Titled “Good Stride” in the lower left, the work captures a fleeting moment with clarity and control, the figure poised mid-step with a natural sense of balance and weight.
Executed in pencil with white heightening on toned paper, the drawing demonstrates careful academic training. The interplay of light and shadow across the figure’s dress and apron gives structure and depth, while the confident line work conveys both movement and character. The faint construction lines framing the composition suggest this may have been a preparatory or study piece, offering insight into the artist’s working process.
The subject evokes rural or market life, a quietly narrative scene that feels both specific and timeless. The warm tone of the paper enhances the softness of the medium and sits beautifully within the simple dark frame with gilt slip.
