Library chairs are one of those unique specialist chairs that hold a special place in our hearts. Obviously intended for the personal library to help you wile away the hours flicking through your favourite books, these chairs were meant for comfort and elegance. There are of course many designs of antique and vintage Library chair to choose from, but classic Georgian and Victorian examples remain the most desirable.
If drowning out the hustle and bustle of the outside world and disappearing into a novel is your style, then there are plenty of antique library chairs which offered high enveloping backs and thick baffled leather cushioning. Alternatively, some prefer the low-slung feeling of an antique Bergère library chair with its caned sides and cushioned seat, or maybe the highly practical chairs which morph into library steps as well.
