So as far as Taunton is concerned it all began in 1978 when the Taunton Antique Market opened on Silver Street, and being a traditional antique Market, it opened one day a week which was a Monday.
The Market thrived and on a Monday queue’s around the block were a regular sight with people waiting to get in with over 100 dealers ensconced in the quirky building it quickly became a Mecca for all things antique with people travelling from around the country and beyond to sample the atmosphere and delights of the 15 thousand square foot venue.
Fast forward to 2022 and on October the 10th a rather tired, battle-weary building was taken over by Antiques on High turning 25 Silver Street into a traditional antique centre, encompassing the Market in 25 to 29 Silver Street which still opens on a Monday complete with café.
Working quickly to re-vamp the building we now encompass a shop and have already hosted antique guru David Harper who has spent a day filming in both the shop and market.
