Antique English School Georgian early Victorian oil painting on canvas portrait of gentleman in formal attire. Unsigned, artist unknown. There is provenance on reverse: "Samuel Commaline Esq Died 1866". Depicts a bearded gentleman in formal attire. It comes in a gilt gesso frame.

Size of frame: 18.25 x 16.25 inches Size of canvas: 14 x 12 inches Size of front portrait aperture: 13.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 2.4 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed).

condition
Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier. No refunds will be available for this reason nor can the item be returned.
