Antique Georgian Folk Art Snuff Box, Clog Shoe

A fine and unusual antique Folk Art snuff box carved as a clog shoe. Rich dark wood with a nice aged patina, possibly Coquilla nut wood. It has been very finely and elaborately carved with plenty of detailing and an intricate slide lock lid which swings out once 'unlocked' It has a small bovine bone knop to the top for opening. Each side bears a hand carved love heart, one side initialled but worn. It has a nice deep recess.
