Unsigned but name is on frame: Weatherhead - William Harris Weatherhead (1843-1903).
Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame.
Depicts a woman in red shawl, long skirt and apron sitting in the kitchen with a basket of eggs beside her.

Size of canvas: 12 x 10 inches;
Size of front portrait aperture: 11.5 x 9.5 inches.

condition
Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character.
Priced accordingly.
This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
