Technical Description A late 19th century bobbin stem wine glass. It has an amethyst ogee bowl above a clear hollow bobbin knop stem. Plain foot with a polished pontil. Date & Origin England, c1900 Condition Excellent, age-related wear as shown, no chips cracks or restoration Dimensions Height: 14.3cm Bowl : 6.6cm Foot diameter: 6.6cm. Comments Bobbin stem glasses from the 18th and 19th centuries are exceptionally rare. The combination of a amethyst bowl and clear stem is again exceptional. The tooling, metal and construction would point very much to the late 19th or early 20th century. An exceptional glass.
