Early 20th Century Leaded Glass Terrarium
Fantastic early 20th Century glass terrarium, beautifully crafted in a traditional leaded light style. The piece features an elegant arched roofline formed from multiple cut glass panels and sliding side glass door, giving it the look of a miniature glasshouse or conservatory.
The sides and roof are composed of clear glass panes together with mirrored back panel, The terrarium is mounted on rectangle wooden base with warm mid tone that complements the metalwork and highlights the overall architectural form.
The interior retains its original tin lined or zinc coated metal floor, showing attractive, time-worn oxidation that adds to the piece’s original character. The proportions are generous, making it suitable for displaying plants, curiosities, or as a decorative standalone object.
A lovely example of an early 20th Century handmade terrarium, full of period charm, with the desirable aesthetic of old garden cloches and miniature wardian cases.
