What began over twenty years ago as a passion for collecting objects rich in history and character has grown into a refined selection of pieces chosen for their quality, beauty, individuality and yes a bit of quirkiness. We believe true luxury lies in authenticity and craftsmanship. Every piece in the collection is thoughtfully sourced to bring heritage, artistry, and a sense of understated sophistication into today’s living spaces.

Description
Fantastic, primitive scratch built weathervane, made during the early to mid 20th century from a combination of brass, copper and steel components.
29.5cm at its highest, 22cm at its widest.
The vane features a central upright metal rod supporting horizontal framework, with the four cardinal points N, E, S and W formed from individually cut and shaped sheet metal letters. Above is a rotating, elongated hand cut directional vane, incorporating roughly formed decorative projections, giving the piece a particularly naïve and folk art character.
The construction is entirely handmade, with visible tool marks, irregularities and variations in the metalwork adding considerably to its character. The central mechanism incorporates a cylindrical collar, all mounted onto a substantial stepped, oval shaped soft metal base with fixing holes.
The surface has acquired an attractive aged patina with areas of oxidation and wear, signs lof old paint, consistent with its age and previous use. The deliberately utilitarian construction and crude hand cut lettering suggest this was individually made rather than commercially manufactured.
A wonderful piece of folk art/weather related architectural salvage, and equally appealing as an unusual decorative object or collector's display piece.
