Description
A finely modelled early 20th century decorative figure depicting Napoleon Bonaparte in his iconic arms-folded stance and bicorne hat.
This charming Continental sculpture captures the dignified authority of the Emperor in a classic pose inspired by 19th-century portrait tradition.
The figure is cast in gilt spelter (zinc alloy) and mounted on a substantial natural green serpentine stone base with attractive cream and dark veining.
The organic, quarried form of the stone base reflects the Art Nouveau to early Art Deco decorative taste popular across France, Austria, and Northern Italy in the early 1900s.

Very good antique condition consistent with age. Original gilt surface with attractive, even patina. Minor age-related wear and oxidation to mounting pins at the heels (stable and typical for period construction). Stone base in excellent condition with natural variations and no structural damage.
