Description
This is a good George II (1727-1760) antique walnut armchair. The shaped top and curved rail with elegant splat beneath, two curved arms supported on shaped uprights with scrolling ends. Drop in seat, rail with simple ribbing and a small shaped frieze to the front. Back legs turned with blocks towards the base, elegant cabriole front legs with foliate carving knees, carved quarter blocks finishing on a pad foot. The stretchers to the side and back are turned and tapering with a shaped stretcher bracing the two side stretchers.
