Description
Featuring a lovely old bridge over the River Llugwy, this is an aquatint of Capel Curig, a tiny village in Snowdonia, Wales. Signed by the artist lower right and bearing impressed stamp of Warwick Galleries. James Priddey (1916-1980) was a prolific printmaker and watercolourist who was active in the 1950s and 1960s and died in 1980. He was based in Birmingham and became President of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. He exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists, among many others.
