I specialise in affordable original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks including limited edition lithographic prints. I also stock a limited selection of antiques and collectables, including treen, ceramics and glass. I have now opened a shop at 26 High St Wallingford (OX100BU) between Reading and Oxford, but I also trade online. Description
A stunning image of Durham Castle, full of drama and contrast, in what seems to be morning light. Signed by the artist lower right and dated 1973. Limited edition screen-print no. 26/100
Norman Wade was born in London and became a graphic designer. Later he moved north and settled in Bishops Auckland where he became an artist specialising in screen-prints of North Eastern landmarks and buildings. He was principally active in the late 1960s and 1970s. His wife had a shop in Durham selling his prints until they retired to Spain in 1980.
