A very fresh and attractive watercolour of Durham, showing the town and cathedral from the river. Signed by the artist Desmond Barnes lower right. Research suggests the artist was born in 1921 and his address is given as Osterley in Middlesex verso. The frame suggests the painting may date from 1970s/80s.
