Pocket Watch Chain Fob Sterling Silver 1900 Welsh Choir Winners Heavy 18.5g

Fabulous English Sterling silver (fully hallmarked) large and highly impressive double sided Antique shield fob (by Henry Bourne) for a Gentleman's pocket watch chain which was given to the winners of the Welsh Eisteddfod choir competition. C~ Hallmarked 1900. Measures; 4.6cm height (including the top ring), 2.7cm wide and weighs a heavy 18.5 grams. Very chunky and highly detailed shield fob which features to both sides an attractive acanthus decoration with scroll work around. The front carries a raised shield shaped cartouche to centre which is beautifully engraved; EBENEZER EISTEDDFORD 21st MARCH 1901. Ebenezer is a famous Welsh hymn which was sung at the Eisteddfod (competition). Clearly hallmarked (within different shaped, recessed cartouches) with the Lion passant (Sterling silver), Anchor (Birmingham assay) and lowercase fancy letter; a - dating to 1900. Also stamped with the makers initials (again within a fancy, recessed cartouche); H.B - Henry Bourne and carries a registration number; RD 283654. The back again carries a slightly raised shield shaped cartouche to centre which is proudly engraved; WON BY MT. PLEASANT JUVENILLE CHOIR CONDUCTOR D. THOMAS. (Mount Pleasant Welsh Youth Choir were a highly regarded group of teenagers and younger children from Porth Rhondda and were based in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church). Original very robust large secure Sterling silver top ring (again correctly hallmarked with the Lion passant) to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean, bright and extremely crisp condition (looks to have never been worn or displayed) with absolutely no wear or damage and just a few overall tiny (micro) little surface storage scratches (showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age.
