Description
Royal Doulton salt-glaze stoneware vase c.1910. Tube-lined pastel pink rose on a blue body. Pale blue detail to rim, deep blue inside. Incised Royal Doulton mark used 1902-1922. Signed BN (Bessie Newbery who worked at Doulton between 1882 and 1924). Pattern number 7816.
Bessie Newbery was listed in 1882 as a Junior Assistant but her talent was recognised and she was promoted to Senior Assistant. By 1911 she was working as a Supervisor and Artist, designing original work until 1924.

condition
This vase is in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. Salt-glazing naturally produced a stippled effect on the finished colour. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
