Description
Vintage (or possibly antique) oak dressing chest, dressing table, vanity stand etc. Basically a two-over-two drawer chest of drawers with a mirror assembly on top, made in the 1930s probably, but could be a bit earlier. The mirror is shaped and bevelled and supported on turned pillars above a carved upstand. The main drawers have their original brass handles and there are ball feet at the base. An interesting feature is the frieze drawer above the others: a carved section pulls out to reveal a drawer with central jewellery box with baize covered lid. This lifts up to become another mirror.

Barnaby's of Battle has clarified that the Vintage Oak Dressing Table Chest of Drawers with Mirror 1930s (LA517767) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1930s
condition
Condition is pretty good: structurally it's very solid and sound and the drawers all work nicely; minor movement in the mirror assembly. Cosmetically there are a few small things, though not much; a blemish on the top (which I like to call cosmetic damage because it'll be from make-up substances..); slight gap in the lower trim corner. The odd scuff. Generally though it's rather good; even the drawer interiors are polished. Really good quality piece in its time.
