Vintage Pygmalion World Globe Novelty Powder Compact Circa 1950

Offered for sale is this novelty Pygmalion globe powder compact which dates circa 1950 and measures approx. 5.5 cm in maximum diameter and is approx. 5.5 cm in height. This round powder compact has flattened base so can stand upright for display without support. The case shows the map of the world with the names of many countries and cities as they appeared at the time of manufacture and now changed, such as Ceylon, Congo & Rhodesia, Bombay, Persia and others besides. The compact has a push button clasp and opens to reveal a cream celluloid interior with glass mirror under the lid. The compact retains the original Pygmalion marked puff and the original powder sifter. This novelty powder compact is offered in good condition. It is free of dents or dings and the metal is untarnished. The interior is in good order and the mirror is clear and reflective.
