This is an antique figural woodblock print. A Japanese, framed picture in the manner of Chikanobu, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900 and later. Delightful woodblock portrait in a charming mid-century frame that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Presented behind clear, bright glass with a silk cotton border. Framed dressed with a hanging bracket for ease of mounting. Original by Yōshū Chikanobu (1838 - 1912) from their set True Beauties (Shin Bijin). This piece being 'Woman After Bath' also known as Woman at Mirror. Printed upon authentic kozo paper, with the ink sitting deeply within the nap and fibres. Shows the woman drying off whilst sat at a mirror, known as a kyōdai. Artist's character mark and title to the left corner, along with the official red seal.
