ANTIQUE JEWELLERY, FURNITURE AND OBJECTS CURATED BY CONSERVATION AND GEMMOLOGY SPECIALISTS IN GUERNSEY AND LONDON
After years immersed in the dynamic world of London’s antique scene, we felt a call to return to Guernsey, to a quieter, more reflective place where we could cultivate our own vision. Our approach is founded on a deep respect for the history and craftsmanship of each item we encounter, but also an understanding that the antique world must evolve to remain relevant in today’s ever-changing landscape. We are committed to bringing both knowledge and passion to every interaction, ensuring that our clients are as informed as they are inspired by the pieces they acquire.
'Terrou' is the Guernésiais word for 'Always' - a word which resonated strongly with us. We believe antiques should be both appreciated for their heritage and embraced for their ability to contribute to the beauty and functionality of modern life. Our collection represents not only the history of fine jewellery and furniture but also a bridge between past and present. We work with clients to help them see that antiques are not merely relics of the past but treasures that can compliment and enhance the spaces and lives of today.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to make the antique world more accessible and approachable, while preserving the standards of knowledge, care, and expertise that have defined it for centuries.
We invite you to explore our collection, where tradition meets innovation, and where every piece tells a story.

Description
A charming and highly decorative original furniture design watercolour produced by the Parisian furnishing house Schmit & Cie, depicting an elegant Louis XVI Revival drop-leaf table.
Executed in watercolour and ink on paper, the drawing presents the table in elevation, carefully rendered with rich mahogany veneers, fine gilt detailing and a silver tea service displayed atop the surface. Such drawings were typically created as presentation pieces for clients or as workshop reference designs, offering a fascinating glimpse into the world of French decorative arts during the Belle Époque period.
The sheet bears the firm's blind embossed stamp reading "Schmit & Cie, Ameublement, Tapisserie, Décoration, Paris, 22 Rue de Charonne". Rue de Charonne was one of Paris's principal centres for furniture making and interior decoration during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Presented in a giltwood frame with wide cream mount, the drawing possesses a refined architectural quality and would sit beautifully within both traditional and contemporary interiors. It is equally appealing as a decorative artwork, a piece of design history, or an addition to a collection of furniture and interior design ephemera.
A particularly attractive example of an original Parisian furniture house rendering, retaining its period character and subtle age-related toning.
