Description
A fine quality etching of Rugby that was one of his sporting themed works, produced in the mid 1960's.
Roland studied art at Chelsea under Henry Moore, and Ceri Richards, two of our finest artists/sculptors of the 20th century. In 1956-59 he had a travelling scholarship to Paris and it was there that the influence of the surrealists and cubists directed his artistic career.
He exhibited widely including the Royal Academy.
A documentary about him for 'Timelines' was produced by the filmmaker Mark French.
