Stuart Devlin was a noted Australian metalsmith who worked in both gold and silver during the second half of the 20th Century. After studying at both the Royal College of Art in London and Columbia University in New York, Devlin returned to Australia briefly. He shot to fame in 1964 when he won a competition to design the first decimal coinage of Australia, and then set up his own workshop in London.
Stuart Devlin’s designs were unique and engaging as he successfully juxtaposed complicated organic forms with simple unadorned surfaces. His range of novelty miniature eggs are among his most popular works but today all his pieces are eagerly collected for their textural, creative and decorative appeal. At LoveAntiques we have a fine selection of vintage Stuart Devlin Silverware all at competitive prices.
