'Connemara Hills, From Kilkerrin Bay' by C.Caldwell

An absolutely beautiful mid twentieth century oil on board painting entitled ‘Connemara Hills, From Kilkerrin Bay’ by Irish artist Charles McNeil Caldwell. The painting shows a landscape of sea and mountains, and is presented in a gilt frame. Charles McNeil Caldwell was post-impressionist Irish artist, who was also a Presbyterian minister in Galway from the late 1940’s until 1978. He died in 1983. I absolutely love this painting and it’s definitely one I’d be tempted to keep if I had any space left at home to put it! The colours and use of light are fantastic, and it’s really well painted. Just lovely.
