Vintage Murano Style Pink & Blue Art Glass Vase

A striking vintage Murano-style art glass vase, dating from circa 1960's, of elegant elongated form and standing an impressive 27 cm high. The vase is beautifully worked in a rich cranberry-pink and violet colourway, dramatically contrasting with areas of turquoise blue and clear glass. The substantial hand-blown body rises to an expressive four-pointed pulled rim, creating a wonderfully sculptural silhouette. Particularly attractive are the sweeping clear and blue glass sections running vertically through the body, which magnify and distort the coloured interior and give the vase considerable depth when viewed from different angles. The underside has a polished pontil area consistent with individually finished art-glass production. A superb decorative piece displaying many of the characteristics associated with mid-century Italian and Murano glassmaking, although in the absence of a signature or label we offer the vase as Murano style rather than attributing it to a particular factory or designer.
