Penderyn Antiques are a family run business residing in an old Welsh chapel in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We source and restore a wide range of furniture, antiques, interiors and collectables. We have no specific style that we adhere to, (if we like it, we’ll buy it!) but we do have a keen interest in early Welsh country furniture and unusual decorative items.
At Penderyn Antiques, we express an indebtedness to those nameless joiners who worked with wood so long ago before plastics and the age of automation. For in building furniture with integrity; so that it will last hundreds of years, they have been our mentors. Their work remains a testament to their commitment to their craft and excellence. Wood is the most used of all our natural resources. We have a duty to recycle, reuse, adapt and preserve it. We must use wood to create furniture that has longevity and combat the ‘throwaway’ society…even though it does grow on trees..”... See more

Piers Rankin began his career with a 6 year apprenticeship at the London and New York company of silver dealers, S J Shrubsole. He also studied at the Sir John Cass School of Art and in 1979 was awarded a City & Guild London Institute Diploma in Silversmith work and Allied Crafts. The weekends and holidays were spent working his own market stall in Camden Passage, Islington which is famed for its antique trade and then he opened his first one room shop in the Mall Antique Arcade, staying there for almost ten years.
In 1994 he moved further along the Passage and had the luxury of a three floor shop, two of which were filled with high quality English silver (and some foreign), silver plate, old Sheffield plate and glassware.
In 2021 Piers Rankin relocated to Great Grooms of Hungerford, Riverside House, Charnam Street, Hungerford, Berkshire, RG17 0EP.... See more
