The Holmegaard Glass Factory is a Danish company located in the Holmegaard region. It was established in 1823 by Countess Henriette Danneskjold-Samsøe and began with the production of simple wine bottles and table glass. Much of their early work is today considered quite mainstream, but it was the arrival of Jacob E Bang and Per Lütken from the 1930s onwards that saw the company excel in modern Danish design. Their designs were both simple yet elegant and often took traditional table pieces and gave them a modern design twist. Holmegaard’s most famous glass include their ship’s decanters and Idelle range but the organic and coloured vases of Per Lutken also remain popular. At LoveAntiques we have a good selection of antique and vintage glass by Holmegaard being offered by trusted sellers from across the UK and beyond.
