Item of the Week - Longcase 18th Century Oak Clock

An attractive Longcase Clock made by Bothamley of Boston, who were well known clock makers in the Lincolnshire area during the 18th Century. The clock was made in 1790 and is made from oak. The longcase clock is generally in very acceptable condition; it has undertaken a number of repairs in the past but is in very good working order.

The longcase antique clock has superb patination and colour; it features some extremely attractive additions to its design, such as a pretty painted dial. The dial has its original movement, and the date workings are still accurate. The clock boasts some lovely features including a raised panel to the base, with a delightful hood shaped door. The long door on the case features fluted corners and is an example of some lovely craftsmanship.

The longcase clock is being sold by Carse Antiques for £950; they are a member of both CINOA and LAPADA. The clock benefits from having its movement fully cleaned and has undergone an overhaul. This beautiful English Oak Clock is a lovely addition to a hallway in the home or as a focal point in a sitting room sure to draw the eye with its beauty.
