Item of the Week - Royal Crown Derby Heart Shape Ring Box c.1909
It goes without saying that we humans have long been fascinated by the art of collecting; a tradition which dates back centuries. I’m sure that the majority of people reading this can say that they have, at some point, collected something, whether it be books, films, stamps, shoes or even small toys found in cereal packets! Whatever it is, collectibles come in a variety of forms.
For this weeks’ ‘Item of the Week’ we have selected this highly collectable but rare Royal Crown Derby Heart Shape Ring Box c.1909
This exceptionally attractive box displays the very popular Imari pattern, a design which was largely influenced by Japanese Art, and despite its delicacy it is in wonderful condition, especially given that it’s 107 years old.
It would sit beautifully on a dressing table or sideboard and would be the perfect place to keep your favourite precious jewels, rings or even earrings.
When considering Antiques, some of the most desirable items to collect are undoubtedly Ceramics & Pottery. This is probably due to the fact that there is such a vast array of Ceramic & Pottery Artisans to collect from, with the likes of Royal Crown Derby, Wedgewood & Royal Doulton being so highly sought after. So not only would this box make for a very pretty piece of Trinket, it is also a very popular collectable whether it’s Royal Crown Derby you prefer or all things heart shaped!
It is being offered for sale by The Antique Seller for £175.
