Item of the Week - Arts & Craft Oak Dressing Table c.1890

With Christmas around the corner, almost every weekend between now and the 25th December is likely to be booked up with shopping trips, gatherings with friends and family, and most importantly Christmas parties, so this weeks’ Item of the Week is a must to help ensure that you step out in style this festive season.

This Arts & Craft Oak Dressing Table houses 8 drawers so there’s ample storage for your bits and bobs, beauty products and personal belongings.  It has 4 larger drawers in the main body of the table and 4 smaller jewellery drawers that sit on top, either side of the adequately sized swing mirror; perfect for when sat at the dressing table as everything you need is within arms’ reach.

A beautiful quality late Victorian piece that also dates from the Arts & Crafts period, it is made from oak and boasts some highly attractive detailing on the legs & mirror.  It has a decorative inlaid pattern on the drawer fronts and the front of the table itself, which contrasts beautifully against the medium, golden colour of the Oak. It also has its original brass drop handles which finish off the elegant appearance of this stunning Dressing Table superbly.

The Dealer selling this item states that ‘The polish has been revived and the brass handles cleaned, by their own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner’ and whilst it is in very good condition it does have some marks and scratches representative of its age and the mirror ‘has some foxing to the plate,’ however, the Dealer is willing to replace this if you so wish.

So now all you need is a stool or chair to compliment this delightful Dressing Table and you have the perfect combo, sure to be a wonderful addition to your home.

This Dressing Table is being sold by Peter J. Martin & Son for £695
