Item of The Week - Rare Black Forest Trumpeter Clock c.1880

If you research quotes on ‘time’ you will find an abundance of inspirational, thought-provoking quotes from a multitude of people such as, "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." - Albert Einstein, and “We are times subjects and time bids be gone” – William Shakespeare. And then there’s the age old saying, “Time waits for no man”. Yes, it’s true, our lives revolve around time.

But rest assured that you don’t have to wait for this!  Because offered for sale, and featuring as this weeks ‘Item of the Week’, is this truly outstanding and very rare Black Forest Trumpeter Clock.

Made in Germany in 1880, this 19th Century clock has a fruitwood case with traditional applied carved vine leaves, and although the movement and bellows were restored in 1991 it retains many original features, namely the finely carved bone hands and applied numerals.

One of the features of this clock that we love is the ‘on the hour’ appearance of a trumpeter through the beautifully detailed double doors, who sounds a tune on an arrangement of four organ pipes.

An eye-catching and charming piece, this clock is of an impressive size and is in good original condition with only minor restoration. The seller of this time piece has even gone to the effort of filming the clock in action so you can buy with confidence and know that you are buying a fantastic Antique in full working order (you will need to e-mail the Dealer to request to see this).

Never again will you be late with this stunning addition to your home, unless of course you can't take your eyes off it!

This clock is being sold by Worboys Antiques for £5,250
