Item of The Week - Early C19th Pine Dresser

There’s nothing quite like a Country style Dresser to bring a touch of style and warmth to your home. And so for this weeks ‘Item of The Week’ we bring you this superb original early 19th Century Pine Dresser.

Back in the 18th Century, an item such as this would have been largely associated with the upper classes, as they were used to showcase ones’ finest china, but by the 19th Century they became far more noted for their practicality and they are now seen to be a highly useful & attractive piece of furniture, used by all.

Not limited to Country Homes but certainly very in keeping with the Country Style décor, a Dresser adds warmth to kitchens & dining spaces and this beautiful Pine Dresser is no exception.  With its homely feel, this Georgian Antique is of fantastic proportions offering copious amounts of surface, shelf & drawer space.

On its upper section it has 2 shelves, which in effect have been split in to 4 if you take in to account the divider that runs down its centre; perfect if you wish to follow tradition & display your best tableware.  There are also numerous hooks on the shelf edges to hang your cups from. We then move down to the large worktop surface beneath the shelves, which you could keep clear and simply use to host a centralised fruit bowl, or you could indeed utilise the space for other accessories such as photo frames and candles. The choice is yours!

Let’s not forget to draw your attention to the four drawers on the lower base, which offer great storage and also the large bottom shelf, which, with the addition of some wicker baskets perhaps, finishes this piece off beautifully.
Made from Pine, it displays stunning decorative detailing to the top pelmet and the section just beneath the drawers, but it is subtle enough not to be too overpowering.

A welcome addition to your home, this is being sold by Swans of Oakham for £1,250.
