A pretty, bone china, rococo revival cream jug from the Staffordshire factory of Samuel Alcock, produced around 1845. Decorated with a hand-coloured, printed design of flowers, leaves and stems in bright enamel colours against a white ground and enriched with gilding. The base of the jug bears the hand-written pattern number, 8243, in red.
The jug stands 6 inches high and measures 5 1/4 inches from spout to handle.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the A Samuel Alcock Cream Jug, C.1845 (3020 / LA192919) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1845.
This piece is in excellent, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration.
