This is a Japanese Satsuma style pottery vase of baluster form rising to a waisted cylindrical neck, the whole decorated in overglaze enamels and gilding with a continuous scene of court dignitaries and their attendants at various cultural pursuits, the neck with decorative diaper bands.

Inspire has clarified that the Large Japanese Satsuma Style Pottery Vase (LA10326 / LA95351) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1890.
The neck of the vase has been smashed and stapled back together which is the main factor of the price being so low. That being said It does not affect the decorative aspect (see picture).
