Description

On offer for sale is fine Quality Rare 18th Century mahogany grandfather clock signed George Jamison Portsea a well documented clock maker that worked in Portsea and London around 1780/1820. He was listed as going bankrupt in 1799 the cause was he he worked with clock makers in London to make accurate Ships chronograph clocks, this clock is of a very high quality with an 8 day movement striking upon a bell on the hour with hour count. It has strike silent mechanism second dial and date dial, the movement has been recently cleaned and serviced and fully working keeping good time.

The Mahogany case has a wonderful flame mahogany grain and wonderful rich patina. The clock comes complete with winding key trunk door key weights and pendulum.
