Description

This is a handsome 18th Century longcase clock by James Thomas of Chester. He is listed as working there from 1775 to 1785. The case is in oak with mahogany cross banding to the trunk door and base. The trunk door has its original working lock and key. The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a decorative brass and silvered dial. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and working date indicator.

Declaration

Cross Antiques has clarified that the 18th Century oak longcase clock (LA13292) is antique and it's date/period of manufacture is 1780.

Condition

The case is in good condition but has the odd age related marks and minor repair you would expect with a 200 year old clock. The movement is in good working order and looks to have recently been serviced.
