Description

Offered for sale is this provincial antique oak longcase clock which dates from 1840. It has an oak case hood with Swan neck pediment & brass roundels. Painted dial with scene to top of a man in a garden with rabbits. The dial has date & seconds aperture enclosing an 8 day movement. The dial signed John Howlett Cheltenham. Original key to lock the trunk door. 2 Weights & pendulum. Standing on box plinth base. Key to lock trunk door. Roundels on the sides of the trunk for the pendulum bob to swing in.

Town House Traders Ltd has clarified that the oak longcase clock 'John Howlett Cheltenham' (Am / LA9412) is antique and it's date/period of manufacture is 1840.

Condition

Overall in good condition. Lovely original colour and patina to the case. The larger finger on the dial has been replaced. Would recommend a service for it to be pristine.
