Description

A handsome longcase clock by James Monkhouse of Carlisle. He is listed as working there from 1793. It has a very good quality mahogany veneered case decorated with various exotic woods. The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a particularly attractive painted dial displaying the phases of the moon to the arch.
