Description

This is a Georgian, English, plain bowl dwarf ale glass dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1810.

The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot which is nicely striated.

The glass has a funnel-shaped bowl measuring 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a short plain stem with a shoulder knop that leads to a conical foot that also measures 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter. The glass is 12.8 cm (5.1 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.

It is made from lead metal weighing 120 g. (~ 4 1/4 oz.).
