Description

This is a fine antique sterling silver bowl made by Paul Storr and hallmarked in London 1810.

It is in very good condition with no repair or damage and the interior retains the original rich gilding. Hallmarks are clearly struck and the bowl has been made with a heavy gauge of silver. There is an ornate vacant cartouche and extensive decoration of scrolls, gadrooning etc which may have been a later addition.

Suitable for a variety of purposes and may have been used as a punch bowl.

Paul Storr is widely regarded as the finest English silversmith of the 19th century and for very many years was the Royal silversmith to George 111 and George 1V. So a bowl of very high quality.
